All leaders of an emerging growth business have a strategic vision for growth. Trouble is most of the time it’s all in their head and not the driving force of their organization.
The vision thing… there are tons of books, articles and blog posts on VISION. As a Founder/CEO of an emerging growth company, of course you have a vision about your future. But are you happy with how aligned your leadership team and entire organization is aligned around that vision? Are the oars of your business rowing in the same direction?
A strategic vision is more than a mirage in the Founder’s head. Strategic vision is a discipline to get everyone in your organization on the same page with where you’re going and how you plan to get there.
When a group of humans have clarity on a common vision miracles occur.
A strategic vision for your business that is shared by all is the first principle in owners and leadership teams getting more of what they want from their business. Growth is a journey of plateaus. Keeping your strategic vision front and center throughout your organization you and your leadership team will experience more momentum to make quantum leaps in your growth and profitability.
Strengthening your strategic vision requires your leadership team have absolute clarity and consensus to answer these eight critical questions.
What are your core values?
What is your core focus?
What is your 10-year target?
What is your marketing strategy?
What is your 3-year picture?
What is your 1-year plan?
What are your priorities in the next 90-days?
What are the current issues/challenges facing your growth?
When you have the answers to these questions, the next step is to share this vision with every person in your company. They must want to be a part of it as if it were there own personal mission. As I mentioned earlier, when everyone in your company is focused and energized on one vision, miracles will happen.
