Are you ready to begin?

in Productivity and Effectiveness

Have you ever been thinking or visualizing about an idea, and it seems so exciting that it crystallizes in your mind so vividly that it seems as if it already has happened? Ever had that happen to you? Did you find yourself exclaiming “hey maybe this idea could work, yeah I see it!” Has that ever happened to you?

Of course it has. Probably many times. You, like me,  may have stopped yourself, doubted yourself, or worse, believed you could not accomplish it at all because you don’t know the right people, don’t have enough money, time, whatever.

Most people hold themselves back with three counter productive habits:

They distrust their inner wisdom and doubt they posses an inventive inclination. This renders them forever dependent on the thinking and advice of others.

They lack a long-term plan in alignment with a guiding life purpose. This enables them to stubbornly resist accepting  full responsibility for their own future.

They don’t believe in whatever hope or resourcefulness their own mind gives them about their own potential to radically change their life’s circumstances toward the good they desire.

Almost all us, at one time or another, fear our own potential. One person side-steps a business opportunity because it is too risky. Another, allows a destructive relationship to make them miserable because they don’t want to be alone. Still another rejects an important advocation because they don’t see any usefulness to it. Fear’s general message tells us we are not yet ready to begin to do, be and have the life we desire.

The way out of this has little to do with acquiring more technical skill, education or knowledge. We must first have a change of mind about ourselves.  We must expand our awareness. We must allow a process of self-discovery. Fear is natural. It will always be around us anytime we seek to leave what is familiar. We all feel fear at the beginning of some bold endeavor.  There’s no frame of reference when we are at the beginning of something.  Only 2 in 10 people will make the decision to go for what they already see so vividly in their mind. To step forward boldly in faith and belief towards the action that will make the big idea come to life in the physical.  At some point, one must begin. Successful people just seem to know this inherently. There is no hand-wringing. They simply move elegantly toward their goal. Even though they too experience resistance and fear. They do it anyway.

These times are called life’s defining moments. Welcome them.

If you are stuck in fear and crippled by confusion and anxiety, try asking yourself “what am I afraid of losing if I go forward with this idea?”  I know it sounds deceivingly simple, but really, deeply ask yourself this question.  Once you realize  you really don’t have anything to lose and everything to gain,  it makes the fear seem somehow trivial in comparison to the potential good you desire. Any idea that advances you in the direction of your goal must be acted upon. Your inner voice always knows where it must go… listen and trust it!

Is there something you just know you would be so perfect for? An idea, belief or value that is sacred to you?  Are you on the edge of your comfort zone doubting it can be yours because you believe more in the compelling evidence of  your limitations than you do in your own unseen greatest potential? This is a defining moment in life.  This is the time to break free from your perceived limitations and begin! Are you ready to begin. If so,  do it NOW with what you have.  Trust that you will accomplish what you desire with the help of the unseen forces that are gathering and rallying around you. Make a decision, move forward and don’t look back.

Make a decision to begin NOW! You don’t need to know how it will come to be… just begin in an easy and relaxed manner.

Growth and expansion is in harmony with the direction the universe is going. We grow or begin to die slowly. It is always a choice. Whatever it is for you, begin immediately! Don’t leave this life with your song still inside you.
